History of the American Legion Riders
The American Legion Riders Group was formed in 1993, in Garden City, Michigan at Post 396. The Groups
National Headquarters Chapter is still Post 396.
All American Legion Riders Groups consist of members of the American Legion Post (Post Auxiliary or S.A.L)
who ride motorcycles of 350cc or larger.

Our Purpose
The purpose of this group is to promote the aims and purposes of the American Legion. Each group is sponsored by
a local American Legion Post and works in conjunction with the Post to provide service to the community, state and nation.
Note: We are Family Oriented!! We are not an M/C!! We DON'T practice M/C rules and regulations!!
Entry into the ALR is pretty basic. Be a member of the American Legion, the Auxiliary, or the Sons of
the American Legion and own a motorcycle of 350cc's or bigger, and have a valid motorcycle license.
You can also join if you are the spouse of an ALR Member. We are a volunteer organization so
there are no mandatory runs or meetings. This program is run at the Local Post level, involving the post members and the ALR
together as one. Information on a group near you or the official information on starting a group can be obtained by emailing
trampbiker@hotmail.com or bkaledas@hotmail.com .
